My approach

Care at Wellness Vet is guided by a simple principle: dogs and families do best when everything is calm, clear, and unhurried.

The approach is steady and attentive, designed to reduce stress, create a sense of safety, and give each dog the time and space they need to be understood.

For families, this often means feeling informed, supported, and able to make decisions with confidence. Care is shaped around everyday routines, so it feels natural, manageable, and comfortable at home.

As an independent veterinary surgeon, Dr Sara has the autonomy to tailor care for each dog as an individual, always calm, kind, and thoughtfully paced.

Why a calm environment matters

At home, dogs are free to settle, move, and behave in ways that feel familiar and safe. This allows wellbeing, comfort, and subtle changes to be observed more clearly, without the pressure of unfamiliar surroundings.

A calm environment supports clearer decision‑making and gentler handling, helping care feel proportionate, considered, and genuinely supportive of long‑term wellbeing.

Listening,
then shaping care

Families often share that one of the most reassuring parts of working with Wellness Vet is the feeling of being truly heard.

Time is taken to understand concerns, routines, sensitivities, and the small details that help a dog feel comfortable. Care is then shaped thoughtfully, with guidance explained clearly and flexibility maintained as needs evolve alongside everyday life.

A considered approach to care

Wellness Vet provides non‑urgent veterinary consultations for registered clients, delivered at home and online by appointment.

Care may support annual healthcare, including vaccinations and prescription medicine checks, as well as help navigate gradual health changes across different life stages. Decisions are guided by what best supports comfort, quality of life, and long‑term wellbeing.

Therapeutic care

A true wellness‑led approach underpins all care, supporting comfort, mobility, and quality of life over time.

Additional qualifications in veterinary acupuncture and therapeutic massage allow hands‑on therapies to be offered where helpful, complementing conventional veterinary medicine and, where appropriate, working alongside other professional therapists.

Care is curated gently to reduce stress and support sensitive dogs, ageing companions, and those experiencing changes in comfort or movement.

Travel overseas with your dog

With additional qualifications in international pet travel, support is available for dogs requiring overseas travel certification.

Wherever possible, care is delivered at home, helping preparation feel calm, unhurried, and well organised.

What matters most

A calm assured presence

Dogs respond to steadiness. Time is taken to allow them to settle, observe comfort levels, and work gently with minimal pressure.

Attention to the small details

Routines, preferences, movement patterns, and sensitivities guide recommendations and shape care that feels truly individual.

Clear, supportive guidance

Understanding not just what to do, but why, helps families feel confident and supported in everyday care decisions.

Consistency over time

Seeing the same vet at each visit builds trust and allows care to adapt naturally as needs change with age, lifestyle, or health.
