Emotional safety
An unhurried approach, with time to build trust.
Meet Nixie
Nixie finds veterinary visits overwhelming, and over time her annual check had become stressful for her and her family.
By meeting Nixie in her own familiar space, and allowing her time to build familiarity over several visits, Wellness Vet has been able to move at a pace where she feels safe.
Nixie can now comfortably have her full health check at home, including her vaccinations, without fear or pressure.

Meet Rex
Rex is gently navigating his senior years. Over time, stiffness and reduced mobility were beginning to affect his daily walks, and with a sensitive stomach and difficulty travelling, visiting the practice had become challenging.
Home‑based care offered a calmer and more comfortable way forward. By working at a gentle pace, and focusing on easing tension, supporting strength, and improving mobility, Rex began a carefully considered rehabilitation journey.
Over time, his comfort has improved, visits have become less frequent, and he is now able to enjoy his walks again. Alongside this, Rex continues to receive his routine wellness care at home, with additional support explored to help maintain his joint health.

Derek and Rex
"I was concerned about Rex, my 12 year old German Shepherd Cross, as his joints were getting stiff and he was clearly in some discomfort walking. Initially he was prescribed anti-inflammatory (arthritis) drugs with pain killers but the medicine badly upset his stomach so we stopped giving them to him.
A couple of people suggested we tried acupuncture which is when we spoke with Sara and arranged an initial visit. After Rex’s first treatment there was a noticeable improvement in his walking, particularly his back which had been quite sensitive. We have continued with the acupuncture sessions and his walking continues to improve after each session. The stiffness in his back legs has also improved and Rex is more lively on his walks.
A great improvement with no drugs or upset stomach!
Sara is great with Rex and another benefit for us is the home visits. Rex is much happier being in his own surroundings for treatment and as a large older dog it is clearly much easier for him (and us) that he doesn’t have to be transported for an appointment.
Our experience with Sara has been great value as we don’t have to worry about transport, queueing in a waiting room, and she is able to spend more time with Rex than he would get with a traditional appointment. Most importantly the acupuncture (which takes time) has made a positive difference for Rex’s mobility and comfort."

Hands‑on care and supported movement
Comfort, confidence and steady progress.
Meet Bailey
Bailey was preparing for cruciate surgery when his care with Wellness Vet began. Support was provided throughout his initial recovery and the weeks that followed, with careful attention to comfort, confidence, and steady progress.
Working alongside his physiotherapist, Bailey’s sessions combined acupuncture, gentle massage therapy, and tailored home exercises, all adapted to suit his individual needs.
As Bailey can feel anxious during veterinary visits, particularly for injections, receiving care at home with a familiar veterinary surgeon he trusted made a noticeable difference to his experience.
Over time, his pain relief was able to be reduced sooner than anticipated, and his orthopaedic surgeon commented on how quickly his strength returned with a hands‑on, therapeutic approach.
Alongside his rehabilitation, Bailey also received support for his skin allergies, with gentle adjustments to his routine and ongoing care.
Bailey is now back to his usual activities,
comfortable and confident at home.
