Understanding travel requirements
An Animal Health Certificate (AHC) must be issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV) within 10 days of entering the EU.
An AHC permits onward travel within the EU and re‑entry into Great Britain for up to four months from the date of issue, and is valid for a single trip.
Dogs travelling to Finland, Ireland, Malta, or Norway require tapeworm treatment 24–120 hours before arrival. This must be recorded in the AHC.
Support is available for both registered and non‑registered clients, with suitability and next steps discussed thoughtfully before appointments are arranged.
